Training for CentrePoint's VolunteersEssentials of Management ConsultingWe are excited to offer a professional development opportunity to our Volunteer Management Consultants (VMCs) at the end of August 2010. A modified Essentials of Management Consulting course will be offered by Sheila Carruthers, an experienced management consultant and facilitator. She recently qualified to run CMC Canada’s Essentials courses for experienced management consultants wishing to earn this internationally-recognized professional certification. She has offered to run the course, at no charge for CentrePoint, so she can run through the materials and exercises with a group of volunteer consultants who will give their honest feedback
The course is designed to help individuals become better consultants. It is part of the training required to obtain the CMC Management Consulting and will strengthen both your skills in working with CentrePoint Non-Profit clients as well as other aspects of your career. CMC will NOT recognize this one-day course towards their certification. It will introduce Methodologies, Tools and Techniques as well as fundamental management consulting standards. For those interested, Sheila will be offering the full 3-1/2 day CMC-Canada approved Essentials of Management Consulting course in Lethbridge late September, in Calgary early October, and in Edmonton early November.
