RECEIPTING FOR CANADIAN CHARITIES
To Issue or Not to Issue an Official Donation Receipt
Eighty-nine percent of registered charities when audited by Canada Revenue Agency Charities Directorate (“CRA”) were found to be improperly issuing official donation receipts (“tax receipts”). This is a very common reason for losing registered charity status.
Participants Will Learn:
- When to issue official donation receipts
- Required information on official receipts
- What a gift, donor and donation are
- If there is an obligation to issue receipts
- How to correct or replace official donation receipts and avoid problems and abuses
In this webinar session, join Charity Lawyer, Mark Blumberg (editor of www.canadiancharitylaw.ca) as he discusses charitable receipting and how to make sure that your charity avoids improper receipting.
