Governance in Action is a one-day conference designed for Executive Directors and Board members to enrich their non-profit governance knowledge.

The day will begin with a keynote presentation from Blythe Butler on the topic of Adaptive Organizations.

In addition, the day will include networking, a chance to pose questions to an expert panel and your choice of two breakout sessions which will provide the opportunity to connect, learn and lead on a variety of Board issues.

Blythe Butler's Bio:

Blythe is a principled leader with a passion for building the capacity of human systems within organizations by creating cultures that support adaptive learning.  Her multi-disciplinary approach creates innovative and strategic solutions for complex challenges by drawing on proven strategy, project, change and culture management methods.

Blythe brings a breadth of knowledge and valuable perspective to her projects based on her experience in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. She has consulted to some of Canada’s largest corporations in performance & program management, and most recently in the areas of change management, strategy development and stakeholder engagement.

Currently, Blythe is Program Committee Co-chair for Leadership Calgary, a member of the Board of Directors of Volunteer Calgary and a Steering Committee member of Calgary’s Change Management Think Tank.  In 2008, Blythe was named one of Calgary’s Top 40 Under 40 for her career achievements and contributions to the community.  She holds a BComm in Finance and International Development from the University of Alberta, and has studied Journalism at Carleton University and Design Marketing at Parsons in New York City.
