- AFP Calgary
If you are a development professional, a volunteer involved in the philanthropic process, interested in fundraising as a career, or just want to know more about AFP, this website is worth checking out.
- Government of Alberta Culture and Community Spirit (Board Development Program)
Website includes a variety of resources, including online versions of the 5 guidebooks in their Board Development series.
- Alberta Learning Information Service (ALIS)
Order or download their print publications free of charge to obtain quick and easy
access to career planning, learning, employment and labour market information.
Also available is a series of Human Resource Strategies for Employers. Their
current, well-researched and easy-to-understand resources are, for the most
part, available free of charge in Alberta.
- Alberta Services, Community Initiatives Program
The Community Initiatives Program will support project-based initiatives in areas such as community services, seniors’ services, libraries, arts and culture, sports, education, health and recreation. The maximum grant will be $75,000 per project per year, and applications can be submitted anytime throughout the year.
- Calgary Chamber of Voluntary Organizations (CCVO)
A website that champions the needs of the non-profit sector, conducts research and facilitates networking and dialogue regarding sector-wide issues.

- Canadian Fundraiser
Since 1991, the Canadian FundRaiser™ newsletter has been updating nonprofit managers twice-monthly on news, trends, tips and analysis of developments in the fields of fundraising and nonprofit management.
- Canadian Policy Research Networks
Through more than 700 publications, CPRN's work touches on many of the major socio-economic challenges facing Canadian society.
- Charity Channel (US)
American super site for the non-profit sector, with a variety of free e-zines on fundraising, volunteerism, Board development etc.
- Charity Village
Canada's super site for the non-profit sector with a job bank and extensive research section. Has a useful news e-zine called Village Vibes at www.charityvillage.com/cv/charityvillage/vibes.html.
- CompassPoint Nonprofit Services BoardCafé enewsletter
To subscribe, go to Blue Avacado and subscribe on-line. CompassPoint Nonprofit Services, a US consulting, research, and training organization distributes Board Café, their electronic newsletter for members of nonprofit boards. It offers a selection of ideas, information, opinion, news, and resources to help board members give and get the most out of board service.
