Leadership PLUS

This program for Executives offers 12 leaders who are relatively *new to the ED/CEO/CAO role, the opportunity to develop leadership knowledge and skills. Continue to watch this webpage for timing of information session(s).

*“New” can mean first time in the top role; a former middle or senior manager transitioning in from the private or public sector; moving up from a smaller charity to a larger organization or perhaps a long-tenured executive director who has never benefited from a leadership development program.

 

More Information about this Program

Leadership is examined in this 6-month program as a critical sustaining force for the nonprofit organization. It is viewed in the context of key management processes and real-time experiences. Multi-faceted methods are used to facilitate learning. Participants will benefit from:

  • 7 one-day sessions on non-profit specific topics where guest subject matter specialists in the management processes will present critical information;

  • Participation with peers in facilitated, practical and real-time ‘action learning’ processes;

  • On-line group discussions and reference material;

  • Leading edge texts and reading assignments;

  • An Executive Coach assigned to each participant for the 6-month period to help strengthen the individual leader’s personal leadership proficiency;
  • A customized governance consultation (up to 24 hours) in recognition of the Board’s complementary leadership role. 

Participants should be prepared to devote a minimum of 16 hours per month to this program.
