Program Requirements
The ideal Participant
- Seeks opportunities to develop their leadership and governance skills
- Is highly motivated to serve the community through Board placement
- Is eager to share skills to benefit community growth
- Has the time available to fully participate
Time Commitments
- Five face-to-face half-day training sessions (see
- Volunteer Calgary BoardMatch process (if your are not already on a Board)
- Meetings with your coach/mentor for assistance with your Board placement
- Preparation/reading between training sessions
- Interview(s) with potential Board(s) to ensure fit for both parties
- A two-year commitment to serve on a non-profit Board
Pre-Program Documentation Expectations
- Resume including both your professional and community experiences. This is the resume you will use to present to prospective Boards
- Letter of reference from a referee to speak to your character, professional and/or community leadership and involvement, and attest to your suitability to serve on a non-profit Board
Program Cost
- The investment cost for this program is $2,500. Limited bursaries are available to participants
