Fund development is a specialized skill that requires theoretical and practical training for success. The Fund Development PLUS (FD PLUS) Program combines elements of mentoring, training workshops, peer networking and learning opportunities to promote organizational growth and capacity.
Ten agencies are selected each year. A training curriculum, provided in partnership with the Association of Fundraising Professionals, is supported by a 100 hours of direct contact between the Mentor Consultant and the organization to develop strategies and practices specific to each participant.
At the completion of the program each of the organizations are expected to have:
- A completed fund development audit assessment
- A case for support
- A fund development strategy and plan
