Executive Leadership Coaching
The LEAP program, directed at the top executives of an organization, is based on a one-to-one confidential relationship, co-managed by the executive or senior manager and a professional coach. Together you work to design an extraordinary future in which you, the leader, can passionately engage. The coach brings a belief in both you and a process that is unique from other developmental strategies. The premise is that strong leaders and leadership are fundamental to strong teams, organizations and communities.
Leadership – “It’s Hard Work!”
There are as many definitions of leadership as there are researchers who have studied the topic. For our purposes, let’s agree that leadership is an influencing process, not a role; leadership involves the art and science of influence on the direction others take. It can come from anyone at any level in or outside the organization. There are many ways that a leader can ‘be’ or behave in order to exercise influence. How the leader ‘is’ in a given situation helps determine what is possible and what is not. One thing is for certain, leadership is hard work. An executive coaching process can help leaders learn about their blind spots, capitalize on their strengths and determine how they need to ‘show up’ in order to influence extraordinary results.
Why the LEAP Acronym?
Leadership requires a different level of mental and physical energy. Many (perhaps all) leaders experience periodic loss of balance or equilibrium in the process of influencing change . Some (perhaps all) leaders grind to a halt from time to time, becoming 'stuck' in a state of inertia. Reflection, analysis and action to become 'unstuck' are clearly accountabilities needed to influence positive change and performance in individuals and organizations.
These key words inspired the use of the LEAP acronym to name the CentrePoint program. Leadership Energy, Equilibrium Action, Accountability Performance
